Eine Stimme finden \/ Finding a Voice<\/em> involves two separate strands of activity aimed at strengthening Ireland\u2019s ties with Germany in relation to women and music.<\/p>\n

The first strand, Reflections & Inspirations<\/em>, focuses on works by living Irish composers who have been inspired by Clara Schumann. These include Reflections on a Theme by Clara Schumann<\/em>, commissioned by Finding a Voice<\/em> for the composer’s bicentenary in 2019, and Jane O\u2019Leary\u2019s Clara<\/em> for clarinet and speaker inspired by the life of Clara Schumann, which will be performed in Leipzig by clarinettist Paul Roe and pianist Mary Dullea alongside works by Clara Schumann.<\/p>\n

In the second strand, Discovering<\/em>, Finding a Voice<\/em> will collaborate with the Archiv Frau und Musik in Frankfurt on a series of events including lecture-workshops on women and music in Ireland and choral music by Irish women composers, developing the Archiv’s holdings of music by Irish women composers.<\/p>\n
