{"id":641,"date":"2023-11-29T17:20:06","date_gmt":"2023-11-29T17:20:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zeitgeistirland24.com\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=641"},"modified":"2024-07-31T10:35:22","modified_gmt":"2024-07-31T09:35:22","slug":"table-service","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/www.zeitgeistirland24.com\/ga\/event\/table-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Table Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Table Service<\/em> is a joint exhibition that presents the design process behind <em>Urban Mirror<\/em>, a public sculpture project by Germany-based Irish architects Plattenbaustudio, alongside <em>Hold<\/em>, a collection of objet d\u2019art designed by Ireland-based studio ROJI. It takes place in Cologne &#8211; a place twined with the city of Cork &#8211; which will be the site of Plattenbaustudio&#8217;s <em>Urban Mirror<\/em> sculpture in August-September 2024.<\/p>\n<p><em>Urban Mirror<\/em> is the result of an invited design competition by Cork City Council (Ireland) for their new Island City Sculpture Trail. Plattenbaustudio\u2019s winning submission was completed in autumn 2023. The presentation in Cologne will exhibit the design process behind this public artwork, including working drawings and models as well as photos of the completed project in Cork.\u00a0 Plattenbaustudio will also be presenting a new 10&#215;3 metre drawing describing the area in Cork city where Urban Mirror is located.<\/p>\n<p><em>Hold<\/em> is a collection of playful, functional forms designed by Steven McNamara of ROJI. It is the result of a self-directed project, whereby Steven explored his insights into the capabilities of Irish craftspeople, having curated and showcased the best of Irish craft and design in Ireland and internationally since founding ROJI in 2012. The objects were developed through an iterative process that centred around commissioning many of Ireland\u2019s leading craftspeople to produce prototypes.<\/p>\n<p><em>Table Service<\/em> is being facilitated by the St\u00e4dtepartnerschaft K\u00f6ln-Cork (Verein zur F\u00f6rderung der St\u00e4dtepartnerschaft K\u00f6ln-Cork e.V.)<\/p>\n<p>Opening reception 23rd of August at 17:00, all welcome.<br \/>\nThe exhibition will be open\u00a0 for the duration from Wednesdays to Sundays 1-6pm.<br \/>\nAdmission is free.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Exhibition of
