Colm Tóibín, the award-winning Irish author of works such ‘Brooklyn’ and ‘The Magician’, tours his latest novel ‘Long Island’ throughout Germany

Colm Tóibín, born in Enniscorthy in 1955, is one of the most important Irish authors of our time. His first novel, The South (1994), was enthusiastically acclaimed by critics. His work has been honoured with numerous prizes, including the IMPAC Prize and the David Cohen Prize for Literature. Hanser published the Henry James novel ‘Portrait of the Master in Middle Years’ (2005), ‘Mothers and Sons’ (short stories, 2009), ‘Brooklyn’ (2010), ‘Mary’s Testament’ (novel, 2014), ‘Love and Death’ (Hanser box set, 2014), ‘Nora Webster’ (novel, 2016), ‘House of Names’ (novel, 2020) and most recently ‘The Magician’ (novel, 2021), for which he was awarded the Rathbones Folio Prize 2022. He has been appointed Laureate for Irish Fiction for 2022-2024.
