Joe Gibney (vocals), Matt Mancuso (fiddle, backing vocals), Conor Crimmins (flute) and James Ryan (guitar, backing vocals) present a fabulous blend of traditional folk songs, original songs and groovy melodies. In May 2023, the band received the prestigious German Record Critics’ Award 02/2023 for their new album Misery Hill and Other Stories.

The appeal of this band lies not least in the different origins of its musicians. With his extraordinary and distinctive voice, Joe Gibney from Dublin offers a diverse repertoire of songs, from rousing sea shanties to soulful traditional ballads about love and suffering. Sometimes you feel reminded of Luke Kelly… Born and raised in New York, fiddler Matt Mancuso was introduced to Irish trad folk by his parents at an early age. He later discovered his love of jazz and the trumpet, which he plays just as masterfully as the fiddle. These influences from the other genres can be felt in his music. Among other things, he has toured the world with Lord of the Dance and Europe and the USA with the cult band Grada. Conor Crimmins, who comes from County Clare in Ireland, is the flautist in The Jeremiahs. He composes, produces and teaches music, often sharing the stage with popular Irish rapper Strangeboy, infusing rap music with trad folk and blending the traditional with the progressive. James Ryan from Kildare is the pillar of the band with his guitar and draws on a wide range of influences from different genres and traditions in his playing, which is reflected in his unique, percussive accompaniment style.

The result is brilliant and moving songs and fiery dialogues with guitar, fiddle and flute. The Jeremiahs offer an extremely diverse and captivating concert experience.
